Award Winning Asheville Wedding and Elopement Photographer shares a stunning late Fall Wedding at Homewood Wedding Venue in Asheville, NC
Liz + Matt love each other so much, that they got married twice!
This sweet couple was one of the millions of ‘COVID couples’ who got Engaged in 2019, planned their dream wedding and thennnn had to reschedule their plans not once, but twice throughout 2020 – 2021! They chose to have a small ceremony with their immediate families on their originally planned wedding date in the fall of 2020 so, this was actually their second wedding and the celebration that they had been dreaming of with all of their family and friends!
And what a way to end my 2021 season…
Things I LOVED about this Wedding:
- The Venue – It’s really no secret that I’m (not so) low key obsessed with Homewood! I have been for basically ever! I used to live in Montford, right around the corner from the venue and I’ve been dying to find a home on their preferred vendors list for like — the last 13 years that I’ve been working professionally in the wedding industry in this town! Maybe, these ridiculously beautiful images will get me a spot on that list!?!? xoxo
- Liz + Matt – First of all, Liz is an incredibly talented artist herself and from the jump, she treated me with SO much kindness and respect and I just felt it in every interaction we had throughout our journey together! She was a dream bride! Also, because their Wedding planning season stretched on for the better part of two years (due to COVID reschedules), I got to spend quite a bit more time with them than I typically get to spend with most of my clients! We had their engagement session initially and then we had a summer BBQ at my house, dinners and drinks downtown, a coffee and museum date, a bridal session on a mountain top, brewery beers and pizza and so — by the time their wedding arrived, they weren’t just clients to me, they were/are my FRIENDS! 🙂 #BONUS
- The Vibe and Decor – Liz and Matt have such good taste! I LOVED all of that late fall / winter opulence and romance! Homewood itself has this real luxurious, warm, cozy, castle vibe with the dark wood, the stone fire places and the candles everywhere! I loved everything from Liz’s Stunning Wedding Gown to the Colors, Textures and Floral they chose for their Wedding!
- The Challenge – If you asked me to describe my professional photography style, I would characterize it as: Bold, Artistic, & Photojournalistic — more True to Life. Maybe it’s because I’m a second generation Wedding Photographer or maybe it’s because I’ve been doing this professionally for the last 13 years but I can really shoot in almost any style with relative ease… So, when Liz & Matt asked us to shoot more dark & moody to match their vibe… I was all like: “hold my beer!” But really, it felt like being asked to stretch our creative muscles a bit more than usual which I LOVED! Challenge accepted! 🙂
